Power generation from candle flame… why not

“An inconvenient truth” was the most uncomfortable feeling, I had during my life about exponentially increasing co2 footprints.
After reaching home, I told my wife about the film & she said to me “why can’t we do anything about it.” I said there is no cheaper & efficient technology running on perennial sources which would help to reduce Co2 footprints. She said I don’t know how power is generated…can u help me to understand. OK, I said... you only need to run the shaft into the hollow magnetic cylinder to produce current. But how is the shaft rotated. The shaft is attached to turbine blades which are hit by running water or pressurized steam which is produced by boiling water with help of fuels like coal, oil, gas, nuclear fuel etc. these all fuels are prime culprit in emiting Co2. Oh! She said… kuch toh dimaag laga yaar…itna power manager bana hai tu..
I went into deep thought…the water boils at 100c then steam is heated till water moisture evaporates then its again heated till pressurized then passed through turbine…oh god..kitna lamba process hai..why not we use something which expands within a tiny rise in temperature…can I apply TRIZ to it…
After little thought…wow I shouted..why not use mercury to rotated the turbine blades…wife asked how can we do that…its simple I said..u can create a closed structure with turbine fixed in the middle & when the mercury is heated it will rise & rotate the turbine & generate power, so you can generate power from candle flame as well…its unbelievable....wow…samta said..but does it have enough pressure to run the turbine…yes I said..in my childhood, my uncle did not know how to see temperature in thermometer & he dipped it in boiled rice & the thermometer broked erupting the mercury outside. Ok, she said but I know that mercury is poisonous & if mercury fumes are created as a result of the process then it is of no use.. well I said..we will have to move mercury in a controlled environment with sensors put on to avoid the fumes..Oh god…it is so wonderful, why don’t you make a plant…kitna maza ayega…
hmm..samta..yaar I can’t make it..but I can show u how it will look like..

Well, I have only sketched it for you too…but I think there is good scope to produce power by using the concept, why not give it a try?

Power Generation with help of existing infrastructure

As the globe is getting hotter, we need to cut down Co2 footprints by getting more granular in our approach. Today we have classified energy generation into two segments renewable & non-renewable.
I think there must be many segments for power generation; one among them must be power generation by using existing infrastructure.
Today the condition of Co2 emission is so worst that we need to optimise all our assets.
Yes, for example: A metro city in India has thousands of skyscrapers. Can’t we use their potential energy (heights) to generate power? They all have motors to take water to top of the building; from there they pour it back to the bottom floor. We need to tap this kinetic energy. We need to have micro hydel power generation units installed in such bottom of skyscrapers to convert it into power.
I have not researched on how many units will be generated from such projects, but anything generated will help to reduce Co2 footprints.
It has huge potential of generating power all over the globe, what say?
